Battery Disposal Information

As a responsible company, we inform you in accordance with legal requirements about the proper disposal of batteries and rechargeable batteries in Switzerland.

Return Obligation

♻️ Free Return
Used batteries and rechargeable batteries can be returned free of charge to our Winterthur location or any collection point in Switzerland.
🏪 Where to return?
Return in store (Zürcherstrasse 60, Winterthur), at Migros, Coop, IKEA, Manor or at your local municipal collection point.
🚫 Not in household waste
Batteries must not be disposed of in regular household waste. They contain hazardous substances and must be collected separately.

Disposal Financing

💰 Advance Disposal Fee (VEG)
A legally defined advance disposal fee (VEG) is included in the selling price of every battery up to 5 kg. This finances the entire recycling process. Examples: Carbon/zinc battery (AA, R6): 5 centimes. Alkaline/manganese battery (LR6): 10 centimes.
🔋 Advance Recycling Contribution (VRB)
The VRB applies to batteries and rechargeable batteries over 5 kg. This is also already included in the purchase price and covers the costs of proper disposal.

Battery Symbol

Batteries subject to the return right are marked with the crossed-out wheelie bin symbol (⊘🗑). This symbol means: do not dispose of in normal waste — return separately.

Legal Basis

These notices are based on the Swiss Chemical Risk Reduction Ordinance (ChemRRV) and the advance disposal fee requirements under federal law.
