About Us – Osina Afro Market in Winterthur
Founded in 2016, Osina Afro Market was created to make authentic African food, high-quality haircare and traditional beauty products accessible to people across Switzerland.
In the same year, our subsidiary Osina GmbH Ltd. Nigeria was established in Lagos, enabling us to source products directly from local producers and guarantee freshness and authenticity.
As an Afro shop in Winterthur, we bring the cultural richness of Africa closer to the African diaspora in Switzerland, to Swiss customers eager to discover African products, and to restaurants seeking authentic ingredients for their menus.

2016 – Foundation in Winterthur & Lagos
Osina Afro Market opens its doors in Winterthur while our Nigerian subsidiary starts operations in Lagos, creating a direct and reliable supply chain for authentic African products.
2018 – Expansion into Hair & Beauty
We introduce a growing range of African haircare and beauty products, including shea butter, hair oils, wigs, extensions, and natural hair products—quickly becoming one of our most popular categories.
2019 – Growth of Our Food Selection
As demand increases, we expand our assortment with spices, vegetables, fish, beverages, grains, nuts, and many regional African specialties—perfect for anyone looking to cook authentic African dishes.
2021 – Strengthening Our Supply Chains
Close collaboration with our Lagos team allows us to import many products directly. This supports local producers, ensures high quality, and provides reliable availability for both private customers and the gastronomy sector.
2023 – Opening of a Large Warehouse
With our new warehouse, we increase storage capacity and improve logistics, offering an even wider and constantly available range of food, haircare, and cosmetic products.

About the Founder — Osina
The driving force behind Osina Afro Market is its founder, known simply as Osina. Born and raised in Nigeria, he moved to Switzerland in 2002 with a strong entrepreneurial spirit and a deep passion for authentic African food and culture.
Before founding Osina Afro Market, Osina worked as a businessman in Nigeria, gaining extensive experience in African food products, trade, and supply chains. This expertise became the foundation for creating a trusted Afro Shop in Switzerland.
Thanks to his dedication, Osina Afro Market has grown into a hub for African groceries, Afro cosmetics, haircare, and authentic ingredients, supporting direct imports from Africa and promoting fair trade with local producers.
